Airbus in talks with German prosecutors to end jet probe


Airbus says it’s in talks with German prosecutors to finish their investigation into alleged irregularities within the sale of fight plane to Austria.

The aviation and protection firm says that “as soon as concluded, Airbus will disclose the outcome.”

The corporate described as “pure hypothesis” a report late Saturday by German day by day Sueddeutsche Zeitung that Airbus may keep away from going to trial by paying a high-quality of 70-eighty million euros ($eighty five-ninety seven million).

Munich prosecutors are investigating whether or not bribes have been paid to safe the sale of 15 used Eurofighter Hurricane planes to Austria in 2003.

Individually, Airbus stated it has been notified of an arbitration ruling in a case involving subsidiary Matra Protection, ordering it to pay 104 million euros for breach of contract within the 1992 sale of missiles to Taiwan.
