A four-yr-previous woman who disappeared from her South Carolina house the place her mom was discovered badly crushed was discovered protected in Alabama on Wednesday and the person suspected of kidnapping her was arrested hours later, authorities stated.
Thomas Evans, 37, was arrested after a police chase that led to Lauderdale County, Mississippi, stated Riverside, Alabama, Police Chief Rick Oliver.
Oliver stated a railroad crew referred to as him after discovering a car parked nicely into the woods Wednesday afternoon close to a railroad monitor within the metropolis on Interstate 20 about 35 miles (fifty six kilometers) east of Birmingham, Alabama.
He stated Evans and the woman have been asleep within the automotive when he approached, and that when awake, Evan was nervous. Evans handed him the woman after Oliver stated they wanted to go to the station and speak, after which sped away, the chief stated.
Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson stated Evans has been charged with kidnapping and that she anticipated to file extra fees. Oliver did not say whether or not Evans had a lawyer.
