It was a terrifying story: Lizzie Dunn stated she was strolling down the road in Staten Island, New York, on Monday when a stranger approached her with a query.
“I didn’t know the individual,” the 52-year-old told the New York Daily News. “She requested me for cigarette and I advised her no.”
Dunn stated the lady then requested if she might spare some cash. She once more refused, she stated.
Then got here the assault, she informed police. Dunn stated the alleged attacker forcibly turned her around and threw some type of acid on her face, leaving her with second-diploma burns on her scalp and the left aspect of her face, Staten Island Reside reported.
“It appeared like she was spraying plenty of occasions, like she needed to hold urgent nozzle,” Dunn told CBS New York. “With my proper hand I attempted to seize the can and knock it out of her hand and with the left hand I used to be making an attempt to defend no matter spray she was misting on me.”
However it all turned out to be a lie, police informed NBC New York.
There was no stranger asking for cash who sprayed Dunn, police say, as a result of she sprayed herself and fabricated the story.
