A Sarasota couple was arrested after deputies say they abused and uncared for a four-yr-previous boy.
Shane Samuels, 25, and Jennifer Feddema, 25, have been arrested on Tuesday in Sarasota after an investigation discovered the pair uncared for and abused the boy.
The investigation started Jan. 20, when deputies responded to a residence to help investigators with the Division of Youngsters and Household Providers whereas they carried out a welfare examine on the four-yr-previous youngster. An agent noticed a big purple, swollen space on the aspect of the boy’s face. When requested how the boy suffered the damage, each Samuels and Feddema informed investigators he fell within the yard.
Fearing for the boy’s security, investigators eliminated him from the house whereas the investigation continued.
Throughout a Jan. 22 examination, docs decided the boy’s accidents have been inconsistent with an accident and displayed extreme bodily abuse. Additional interviews with the kid, along with bruising and hemorrhaging on the kid’s face, neck and ears, revealed Samuels forcefully coated the boy’s mouth.
At one level, when requested if he was terrified of anybody, the boy stated, “I’m terrified of the boogeyman” and informed investigators that Samuels advised him the boogeyman was “going to get him.”
