Three-time world street racing champion Peter Sagan of Slovakia made an impressive begin to the 2018 biking season Sunday when he gained the Individuals’s Selection Basic, a prelude to the primary World Tour occasion of the season, the Tour Down Underneath.
Sagan beat star sprinters Andre Greipel of Germany and Caleb Ewan of Australia in a bunch dash to win the 50.6 kilometer (31.four mile) race over 22 laps of a road course in central Adelaide.
The win means Sagan will put on the tour chief’s ocher jersey within the first stage of the six stage Tour Down Underneath on Tuesday. Sunday’s race doesn’t rely towards basic classification.
