Make it three out of 5 — the Fab Five.
Jimmy King joined Jalen Rose and Chris Webber in throwing his help behind their former teammate, Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard, to develop into the subsequent Michigan males’s basketball coach.
“Completely,” King stated Saturday whereas attending third annual Champions for Change Gala at Crisler Middle to profit the ChadTough Foundation. “So that you’ve obtained three and I’m positive you’ll get all five.
“I feel Juwan Howard is clearly probably the greatest candidates for the Michigan job. I feel his pedigree speaks for itself. I feel his expertise in high school being an All-American, be an All-American in school at his alma mater at the University of Michigan issues. And being a champion on the pro degree and being a coach over the previous few seasons speaks for his pedigree. I feel he’s probably the greatest candidates the university can have.”

Rose and former U-M participant Mark Hughes kicked off Howard’s candidacy on Thursday as the varsity seems for a alternative for John Beilein, who left to turn into the Cleveland Cavaliers’ coach. Chris Webber threw his support to Howard on Friday.

“John Beilein had a great career here, 12 (years), two Final Fouls, four Big Ten championships, numerous NBA players and lottery picks. So the next person who comes in, in my opinion, has to at least keep the status quo and at the very best level let it grow and keep it growing.”
Beilein and his wife, Kathleen, were co-chairs of Saturday’s gala. But the coach declined comment on any basketball matters.

“We’ve been so lucky to have John Beilein and had family as part of the community,” Carr said. “Of course, DIPG and this fight we’re in, they’ve supported that and so many other things. But I appreciate John for the all the winning. He won a lot of games and made it fun.
