Police say the man concerned even admitted he went too far.
For Marina Hernandez, every automotive that drives by means of her neighborhood is now suspect.
“This could happen to anyone, it isn’t simply in the films, it’s actual,” she warned.
Hernandez says a man was caught following her 24-yr-previous daughter final Saturday.
“I’m terrified to think about what might have happened,” stated Hernandez.
It was her husband who first observed a automotive parked in an empty cul-de-sac close to their residence.
“He was parked proper there dealing with south, my husband stated. When she drove to the cease sign… he adopted her out the neighborhood,” Hernandez recalled.
She and her husband have been quick to comply with, driving behind the 2, heading down I-10 toward H-E-B.
“Then he became the H-E-B parking zone with Samantha. At that time, my heart started racing, I was like, ‘There isn’t a method.'”
Hernandez says she wasn’t afraid to confront him within the store, suspecting he had been watching their house. Then she says he admitted to watching her daughter much earlier within the day.
“Then that’s when he stated JCPenny. And that is once I actually lost, I stated, ‘You’ve got been following us since JCPenny? And you went to my house and also you sat there for 3 hours?’ He’s like ‘Yeah, but I am sorry. I won’t do it once more, I’m sorry I’m sorry.'”
Hernandez stated the person stated her daughter was very engaging to him, telling her she appeared acquainted.
She snapped footage of the person and his automotive as he ran away. The household reported him to Katy police.
Because of the license plate, they have been able to find him at work. Investigators say he voluntarily got here in and confessed.
“He admitted to every thing, I simply couldn’t consider it,” Hernandez stated.
He even wrote an apology letter to the family, but they say it isn’t enough.
“That letter doesn’t suggest anything to me, he should not have finished it to start with.”
Investigators say the incident did not meet the edge for a stalking charge, which requires the suspect to commit the act more than as soon as.
They are saying the 37-yr-previous from Fulshear has no legal historical past.
Hernandez does not assume his lack of legal report means he is innocent.
“Anyone who sits out there for 3 hours does not have good intentions. And I don’t consider that was his first time doing it.”
Katy police need to warn the general public, you need to never comply with somebody who you consider is appearing suspicious.
On this case, they say getting the man’s license plate number was essential, but ask you to not confront someone your self.
