Survivor recalls dramatic rescue from cliff at Las Trampas Wilderness


SAN RAMON (KRON) – A day hike become a dramatic rescue for an East Bay lady. 

In late April, Noni Turner and her son Frank went for a hike in the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness space. 

While in a creek bed in a steep ravine, Turner someway lost her stability and fell backward. 

She landed on her again and head and suffered critical accidents. 

“I keep in mind yelling,’Frankie,’ and I used to be down and out and I could not rise up,” Turner recalled. 

Frank was capable of name 911. 

“It was a scary moment,” he stated. “At first, I tried to encourage her to move. I did not understand how extreme her injuries have been.”

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Workplace stated its helicopter, Starr 3, arrived within minutes.

Turner was in an area not accessible to rescue automobiles, in steep, wet, and muddy terrain. 

Video captured the wrestle to get to the small area by means of tall timber. 

Virtually a month later, Turner nonetheless has again pains and continues to be recovering from her accidents. 

“I am very grateful to the rescue group,” she stated. “Everyone that assisted me with this accident.”
