Suspects armed with gun, bat sought in South Lawndale robbery spree


Chicago police are investigating after a criminal offense spree within the South Lawndale neighborhood Thursday morning.

The primary robbery occurred at about 2:55 a.m. within the 3800-block of West thirty second Road as a 38-yr-previous sufferer was parking a car. The sufferer, who requested not to be identified, talked to ABC7.

“He stated, ‘Give me every little thing or we kill you here,'” the sufferer stated.

He stated two suspects, one armed with a gun and the opposite with a baseball bat, pulled up subsequent to him in a darkish-coloured SUV. Then, a man obtained out and tapped on his window.

“He stated, ‘Open your door,’ and I stated, ‘Why?’ He stated, ‘Simply open the door,'” the victim stated. At that time, the person broke his window. The suspect then tried to open his door, which was locked.

“He stated, ‘Give me every part you’ve.’ I stated, ‘I don’t have nothing.’ He stated, ‘I’ll kill you he obtained a gun,'” he stated.

He stated the man attempted to tug him by means of his broken driver aspect window, but he managed to flee by way of his automotive’s passenger aspect door. He took off operating only to be pursued by a second attacker armed with a baseball bat.

“I run and he comply with me and he take me and hit me with a bat,” the victim stated.

He was capable of break free and get to security. The beating left him with bruises to his back and left arm.

The robbers drove off and should have focused two individuals that same night.

The second incident occurred about 15 minutes later in the 2500-block of South Christiana Avenue. Police stated a sixty two-yr-previous man was getting out of his car when two suspects approached him and forced the victim into his residence at gunpoint.

The robbers then took an unknown sum of money before fleeing the scene in a darkish-colored SUV, police stated.

About twenty minutes afterward the identical block, a 31-yr-previous lady was in her parked automotive when a dark-colored SUV approached her. One suspect sporting a masks began hitting her automotive with a baseball bat and demanding she open her automotive door.

The victim drove off and the suspects fled in an unknown path. She was not injured, police stated.

Area Central detectives are investigating the robberies. Nobody is in custody.
