A Fresno psychologist is weighing in on what might have brought about fifty two-yr-previous Margaret Gieszinger to chop her scholar’s hair and chase them with scissors.

Geiszinger is being held at the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on $one hundred,000 bail after she forcibly minimize a scholar’s hair in school.
Video surfaced Wednesday displaying the fifty two-yr-previous science instructor chasing students with scissors between desks while belting out the “Star Spangled Banner” at University Preparatory Excessive Faculty.
The whole thing occurred within minutes, but a Fresno psychologist says it is enough to impression a type of students for the remainder of their lives.
“These youngsters had a bizarre experience where a few of them have been truly victims of what I might call a violent crime in that final place they might anticipate it,” stated pschologist Dr. Susan Napolitano.
Napolitano says based mostly solely on the video, the state of affairs was both bizarre and threatening.
“It appeared like someone suffering a psychotic episode or a manic episode the place an individual’s sense of reality is compromised,” she stated.
She says it is the scholar who sat in the chair and had his hair reduce who could possibly be most affected in the long term.

Napolitano does say it is essential the varsity step up.
“I feel the students have to be reassured that the varsity acknowledges this was really scary they usually experienced an injustice, and the varsity makes positive that nothing like this happens again,” she stated.
University Prep High school did launch a press release saying there are counselors obtainable, and that the instructor won’t be returning to the classroom.
