‘The Mandalorian’ cast: Pedro Pascal to star in upcoming Star Wars live-action series

SAN FRANCISCO —

Pedro Pascal will star in “The Mandalorian,” the upcoming Star Wars reside-motion collection, Lucasfilm announced.

Pascal, recognized for his work on “Narcos,” will appear within the title position as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Different forged members embrace Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte.

“The Mandalorian” is at present in manufacturing for Disney+, Disney’s upcoming direct-to-shopper streaming service that may launch in the U.S. in late 2019. The company has yet to announce a launch date.

Author and government producer Jon Favreau teased the collection’ premise in an October Instagram publish: “After the stories of Jango Fett and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is about after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We comply with the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy removed from the authority of the New Republic.”

“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly gifted group and excited for everybody to see what we’re as much as,” Favreau stated Wednesday.

Dave Filoni (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels”) is about to direct the primary episode.

The Walt Disney Company is the father or mother firm of Lucasfilm and this station.
